e-twinning 2020-21
About the project
Students of all participant countries (Greece, Portugal, Croatia, Ukraine, Italy, Armenia, Moldova, Romania) will use Europeana’s gallery with the title ‘Heritage at risk’ as a main source to work collaboratively, in order to learn about endangered cultural heritage in each country and ways to protect and preserve it.
Additionally, students will create projects for safety on the Internet.
Europeana is a platform with more than 58,059,677 artworks, artefacts, books, films and music from European museums, galleries, libraries and archives.
The recent devastating events at Notre-Dame, the National Museum of Brazil and across Syria and Lebanon remind us that cultural heritage is at constant risk, as much today as throughout history.
Students will take part to several activities in order to understand and spread the importance of Unesco heritage monuments and of course how to be careful while surfing on the Internet. Among other things, they will partcipate on a debate for the importance of keeping alive the heritage of monuments.

Online debate with Italy and Romania
The debate took place on Thursday 3 of June 2021.The subject of this debate was:
Is UNESCO World Heritage status killing the things it loves?
Particularly, the Mayor of Dubrovnik suggests that there should be a strict restriction in the number of tourists that visit vulnerable cultural heritage sites such as the old city of Dubrovnik that faces overtourism problems. Do you agree? Yes or No?
Our students, participated and discussed with arguments whether they are against or for the Mayor's proposal.
They really enjoyed it talking with students of Italy and Romania and they were happy twice, because the final decission was against Mayor's proposal. They believe that economy needs to be supported.
